HD Video Of A Radio Controlled Plane Flying Around New York City

http://www.flixxy.com/rc-airplane-flying-around-new-york-city-hd.htm

Pretty cool. It says at the end of the video that they had approval from the NYPD and the TSA, so these guys knew what they were doing. Incredible range for a remote control plane.

Funny. Part of that video footage looked like the footage they showed when that Yankee pitcher flew his plane into a building a couple of years ago.

Those Trojan mini vibrator commercials I keep seeing on TV

Am I the only one who is completely amazed how they get away with airing those commercials? They make them look like any other infomercial you see out there. The women on them act like they are talking about some new cream that removes wrinkles. "I can't tell you how much this has improved my life. It's like a ray of sunshine. It's the best product out there." Where's the Shamwow guy when you need him?

Oden goes down...again

Talk about the best that never was, Greg Oden. What a bust this guy turned into.

Greg Oden will undergo microfracture surgery on his left knee and miss the entire 2010-11 season.
The bad luck continues for Oden and the Blazers, so go ahead and drop him if you were holding him in hopes of a comeback. Marcus Camby and Joel Przybilla will hold down the center minutes for the Blazers the rest of the way - that is, once Przybilla returns from his own knee surgeries. It's tough not to feel bad for Oden and the Blazers, as Kevin Durant continues his dominant ways in OKC. Nov. 17 - 10:30 pm et

"The Best That Never Was" Marcus Dupree on ESPN's "30 for 30"

I saw it the night it premiered. It was great. How crazy was that footage of him in high school? It looked like he was never tackled once. Gotta get me some of those tear away jerseys. Great story about how college recruiting was so crooked in the 70's & 80's and the pressure that was put on top high school athletes. Also great documentary that shows how important these college athletes are to their schools, until something happens to them and the school has no use for them anymore.

The ending is amazing. Definitely shed a tear towards the end.

Wings on Bob Lefsetz & the Lefsetz letters

This guy is a F'n moron. Is his goal to talk negative about everything in entertainment? I've never read one positive thing from this guy. He just shoots off his negative opinions and expects everyone to agree with him. I swear this guy had no friends growing up and he sat in his room all day just collecting knowledge about useless crap. Now with blogs, he has a forum where he can make his comments and not get punched in the face. I'm sure most of the people who follow his blogs are a lot like him.

Go on Youtube and look up "Gene Simmons - Bob Lefsetz" You will see a debate between the two of them at some convention in Canada. Gene tells him how it is and who he is not.

Another amazing 30 for 30 - Once Brothers

Did you guys see the 30 for 30 show the other night? It was great. It was called "Once Brothers" and it was about the Yugoslavian National Basketball team from the mid 80's. The documentary is narrated by Vlade Divac and he talks about how they all started and how they all progressed. They discuss how great the team was before the Yugoslavian Civil War started. They were considered the real dream team when it came to international basketball. The team was made up by Vlade Divac, Toni Kukoc, Dino Radja, and the best player in all of Europe, Drazen Petrovic.

They discuss how all of these guys were best friends and how no one could beat them. Valde and Drazen both went into the NBA at the same time and started the "European Invasion" into the NBA. Vlade took off in Los Angeles while Drazen rode the pine in Portland. Drazen didn't get his chance to show America how good he was until he was traded to the nets. Then he took off.

The main story of the documentary is how the civil war affected the team and the relationship between the players. Vlade was a Serbian while the other players were Croatian. After they won a World championship for Yugoslavia, a fan ran onto the court with a Croatian flag. Vlade ran over to the guy and grabbed the flag out of his hands and went on to celebrate with his teammates. He said that they were not Croatians or Serbians, but Yugoslavians and they should celebrate together. When the team got back to Yugoslavia, Vlade was treated like a criminal.

After this, the separation of players began and probably the greatest team ever was finished. When all of these players went to the NBA, none of them could talk to Vlade because he was Serbian. These guys were best friends one day and the next day they couldn't talk to each other anymore.

It was a great documentary and highly recommend that you all watch it when you can. I think it's on Youtube? I'm sure you can find it somewhere on the internet or ESPN.

I knew Petrovic was good, I didn't know he was as good as they showed in this documentary. He was housing Jordan with ease. Of course we all know what happened with Petrovic. It was a sad ending to what could have been an amazing career.

blow me in the jacuzzi

that's the subject of an email a buddy sent to me this morning.
he went on to say:
"this latest Mel Gibson rant is crazy good!

The death threats are one thing. but now he's burning down the house like David Byrne if he doesn't get head in the hot tub? I'd like to get in the time machine and see this one first hand!"

My thoughts:
You have to listen to it on Howard because they play the entire tape un-edited and no bleeps. They actually play it the second Radar Online puts it on their site. You just know that her lawyers are releasing these tapes this way to make him look even worse then he already does. I'm guessing that all of these phone calls really happened within a 2 day span. Her lawyers heard it and knew they struck gold. They just release one a day to build up public scrutiny against him.

He wasn't mad that she wouldn't blow him in the hot tub. He was mad at her because she wouldn't give him a blowjob before they took a jacuzzi.

Some of the best lines so far:

"You dress like a whore. I hope you go out and get raped by a bunch of f'n n*ggers!"

Mel screaming, "I'm going to come over there and smack you on the side of the head with a bat, you cunt!"

My personal favorite - Yelling insanely. "I'm going to come over there and burn your house down. But before I do that you're going to blow me."

She must give a really good blow job if he's so insistent about it? She has great lips.

Waters & Gilmour

How awesome would it be if all of the sudden David Gilmore decided to tour with Waters this fall?

http://www.jambands.com/news/2010/07/12/david-gilmour-and-roger-waters-perform-together-at-benefit/

I'm just saying it would be cool if he toured with him since he doesn't have anything else booked for the fall.

Like Plant and Zeppelin. There has to be more to the story with Plant for not wanting to tour with Zeppelin. He's touring with everyone else, why not the big money tour? I think Plant is embarrassed to try hit the high notes. either that or he truly believes that they shouldn't perform without John Bonham. But if that's the case, why did he do O2 last year? Just for that guy's birthday?

I was listening to Howard this morning and he played a version on the Zeppelin song "Thank You" by Chris Cornell. It was great. F Plant! Let someone else do it if he doesn't want to.

NBA Finals- pt.1

You guys hear the comments Gasol made about Kevin Garnett after Game 1? He basically said that Garnett is washed up and he can't drive the lane anymore. He said he has no power in the paint. All he can do anymore is shoot from the outside. Then he followed it up with, "It happens to all of us eventually. We all get older. It's obviously starting to effect Kevin's play"

They asked Garnett what he thought of Gasol's comments. His answer was "No comment. We will see what happens in Game 2."

This is getting good.

Crazy truck crash

This is one of the craziest truck crashes I've ever seen. Very brutal. It gets loud towards the middle of the video.

Tess Taylor is "Pretty Wild"

A friend forwarded thsi to me the other day:
I may have to start watching this show...

http://www.flynews.com/2010/04/29/reality-star-tess-taylor-smokes-bong-topless-extremely-nsfw.html

I saw this picture on another site yesterday so i watched a little bit of the show. it was pretty stupid. it's just another one of those reality shows about spoiled rich kids. it's about 3 models and what goes on in their daily lives. situations are setup for them by the producers. It's just another show like the Kardashian show. I'm guessing E came out with this because the kardashian family is getting boring after 2 of the daughters were pregnant?

I don't think that picture is part of the show. that girl was in playboy before this. here's the link from what i saw yesterday.

My type of woman

What's not to like?

I think it's the fact that she looks like Betty White and Betty White turns me on.

Miami struggles to stay in NBA playoffs with NO FANS in attendance

Even though Miami is a big city, it's not a big professional sports town. The Dolphins always do well as long as they are winning, but the other sports teams (Heat, Marlins, & Panthers) never come close to selling out. The Marlins are opening up a brand new stadium next year. It will seat less people then Dolphin Stadium, but that's a good thing for the Marlins. It will look like the place is filled up more. If they can get more then 10,000 to a game, that's a good night.

On Coachella & the 2010 Festival Line-ups

That's a funny set up for a festival. They try to be like Bonnaroo, but all of the fancy celebrity people show up trying to look like they are part of the scene and into the music. The reality is they are there for the photo op and to make sure they are seen there.

Maybe it's me, but the lineups for these festivals this year are not top shelf. It seems like the biggest artist at these festivals is Jay Z?

Howard Stern, Photos & the TMZ sensation

I totally understand that, but that's the price of being a celebrity. If you are going to show up at public events, you have to expect that there will be at least one person with a camera. At least we don't have the paparazzi waiting outside every restaurant in NYC waiting to take pictures of celebrities walking to their cars like they do in L.A.

Howard had the greatest line a few months ago. He was talking about how TMZ has become a major source for news about any celebrity. He was complaining about the fact that the show makes so much money for being so basic. His statement was, "Who knew you could make a lot of money making videos of celebrities walking somewhere?" He's absolutely right. If you ever watch that show, the celebrities they show are always walking to or from their car or in or out of restaurants. Another one is video of celebrities getting off airplanes and walking to their limos. That Harvey Levin guy is a genius. First Peoples Court, now TMZ.

When I delete myself

When you record in HD, it takes up much more space than when you record regular tv. If you don't want the shows to be deleted, you need to go into the show settings. There is a spot where it asks you when to delete. The choices are "when I run out of space" or "when I delete myself". Always set it for "when I delete myself" if it's a show you really want to see and don't want to lose it.

You should also have HBO On Demand. That probably has the Magic/Bird documentary for free in the sports section.

The 30 for 30 shows repeat all of the time, so just do a search for upcoming show times for 30 for 30 and they will list what each show is about. You will probably see the Len Bias story, The USFL story, The U story (Miami), etc....

30 for 30

The 30 for 30 shows are excellent. I've enjoyed every one I have watched. I didn't know anything about Iverson before he went to Georgetown. Looking forward to watching it. I'll have to fit it in between Biggets Loser, American Idol, and Lost.

I watched one last week which was called "The Guru of Go" It was the Hank Gathers story, but it was more about Paul Westhead. What a great story. I guess he was a very under-rated coach? I love that he called his style of play "The System". Hank Gathers and Bo Kimble thrived on it at Loyola Marymount. I never knew they both left USC after their freshmen year to go to LM.

Jesse James and that Michelle Mcghee chick

I'm guessing Sandra Bullock is a bore in the sack compared to the other women he has had in his past. This guy was married to a porn star and I'm sure he has had tons of hot women in his life. Marrying her was good for his image, but can't you say that about 95% of Hollywood marriages? They are mostly about image.

Tiger Woods marriage was all about image. The only difference between Tiger Woods and Jesse James is that Tiger is the popular celebrity in his marriage. He will win back his fans and endorsements. Sandra Bullock is loved all over the world. There will be very few organizations that will want to associate themselves with Jesse James. Not that he was looking for any endorsement deals anyway?

I thought that chick with the tattoos had a nice body, but too much of a freak for my liking. Then again, that's exactly the type of girl he always went for before he was with Sandra. Sandra should bang that big black dude from The Blind Side to get even.

Michelle Bombshell

A friend sent an email to a group of us:

Subject: Michelle Bombshell - Jesse James' Ho

they have video of her stripping on tmz.com

she's a lot hotter in the video than in her photos

Here are my thoughts upon viewing the clip:

I just watched it. A couple of things I would point out.

1) Why do they bother blocking out her boobs? Not that I've seem them yet, but I'll put money on it that they are covered in tattoos so you probably wouldn't see anything anyway. this leads to my 2nd point.

2) There is nothing appealing about when a girl like that strips because she has so many tattoos that it never looks like she is naked.

3) I hate it when strippers do that real slow dance. they try to come off as being artistic. I say it comes off being boring. At least make it look like you are a little interested in what you are doing. Girls who dance like this look like they can't wait to get off the stage. If you want me to reach in my pocket for some green, make me feel like it's worth it.

Is she a fulltime stripper or did she just do this because this is her 15 minutes of fame and she's reaching for all she can get? Any woman who has that many tattoos has to have a limited amount of options of what she can do for a career. I guess elementary school teacher is off the list?

RE: Edge of darkness

Braveheart was awesome. You can't deny the greatness of that film. Mad Max/Road Warrior - amazing. I even liked the 1st two Lethal Weapon movies.

The movie will gross $200 million in it's first week. People are fickle. They don't care what happened a few years ago. they only care about the now and the future. Just ask guys like Alex Rodriguez and Andy Petitte. Originally they were scorned for being associated with steroids. Now they are heroes again and the word steroids never even comes up.

People liked his movies before he did this and people will still go to see his movies now if it has a good story. Like I said, people are fickle and they forget what has happened in the past very quickly.

The lobster claws were small

I take pride in finding the very best. I was dis-pleased with the selection at Veniero's last night. It was not up to par to what I expect. I'm glad you enjoyed it though. There is powdered sugar all over the inside of my car. God dam bridges!!!

Pardon [His] Interuption

I like the fact that Tony Kornheiser was suspended for 2 weeks for basically saying that Hannah Storm dresses like a whore and she should try to dress more her age. I totally agree with him. If you have ever seen her on ESPN, all she wears is mini skirts and really tight shirts to show off how thin she is.

I also like the fact that he called her a 50 something when she is really 47. Zing!

More or Gammons (Derek Trucks is cool!)

Nice article by Peter Gammons.

http://bit.ly/cJ0UyK

Not bad for a baseball guy, huh? ESPN are idiots for letting him go. He has such a huge following. I would read anything he writes.

Chicken & Waffles

I would love to go to a place that sells waffles and fried chicken. I've seen it on TV and wondered about the connection. It sounds incredibly delicious.

My boy sent this to me:

http://www.roscoeschickenandwaffles.com/

I'm drooling. Amazing.

Jersey Diners

West Orange diners suck. I can't sit in The Ritz. I'll only do take out from there. The Pilgrim Diner in Verona on Prospect is a great diner. Another great one is the Park West Diner on Rt. 46 in Totowa. Fluss will vouch for that one.
One of my favorites is The Skylark Diner on Route 1 in Edison. That place is awesome. I would stop there anytime I go down to New Brunswick for a show or something else. On Friday and Saturday nights it turns into a nightclub, but still serves all of the diner food. They have a DJ booth and everything. Lots of TV's all over the place. My favorite item on the menu is crispy french toast. Thick Challah slices that are covered with Rice Crispies and fried. Yum.

Wolfmother rocks

Originally from an emial on January 11th, 2010:

This is the guy Jimmy Page should get to replace Plant if they ever do a Zeppelin tour. He's the lead singer from the band Wolfmother out of Australia. You might have heard one of their singles called "New Moon Rising". I would love to see these guys live. THEY ROCK!!!

How will we be fed

From an email invite to a friend's home for New Year's day:

Mark your calendar we are going to have a party for those who are around the night after New Years Eve, with or without kids? not sure yet on that part. Who is around?

So, logically, I asked:

"Food? Each person bring something or will it be supplied?"

We were well fed without having to bring anything but our kids who were bouncing off the walls and our stomachs which were full by the end. The filet was cooked to perfection on the grill. The rest was great Italian catered in. Well done! (and that does NOT refer to the temperature of the meat)

Peter Gammons is cool

This was from January 29, 2009 in regards to Gammons now writing about his love of music and baseball for MLB.com:

He's the Dahli Lama of Baseball. I base every thought in fantasy baseball on what he says. Peter Gammons has to be the coolest sports reporter by far. He has recorded a couple of albums. Not to mention that he's already a Hall of Famer. If he says a certain player is going to have a great year, I grab that guy immediately. The man is pure genius. To top things off, he's a Red sox fan who hates the Yankees. Can he get any cooler than that?

Sexting and the fools who pose for nude photos

This was originally from a conversation back on March 23rd,2009 in reference to a chain of emails based on a friend from childhood, living in AZ who sent an email asking everyone to watch Celebrity Apprentice because heis company was going to get a pitch on the show. Not sure how we got to this point, but...

A guy in my office was showing naked pictures of his ex girlfriend to everyone in the office. He got her to send him pictures that she took of herself with her digital camera. When I looked at them I said, "and that's why women should never allow to have naked pictures taken of themselves unless she wants other people looking at them. Even then you should be careful."

Broadcasters

Watching college basketball, I've always been a fan of Vern Lundquist. His calls have made you feel like you're part of the game. He would cover every detail with the perfect tone of his voice. If it was an exciting moment, his voice captured the excitement of being in the arena at that moment. Who could ever forget his call of the Duke/Kentucky game years ago? "Hill inbounds the ball. To Laettner. Shot! GOOOOD!!!!"

I'm still a fan of Vern Lundquist, but I have to tell you, there is nothing more exciting than watching a college basketball game called by Gus Johnson. He's amazing. He keeps you on the edge of your seat for every shot. He gets so excited that you feel like he has money on the game. With his calls, I not only feel like I'm part of the game, I feel like I'm so close I can run onto the court after the last shot. I know he's the Knicks broadcaster also, but he doesn't bring the same excitement to their games as he does college basketball. Maybe he understands that these kids are not playing for the money, they are playing for the love of the game. The same love that he shares of the game.
